First Principal Dancer of Liaoning Ballet
Yu Chuanya has been awarded as the National First-Class Dancer, and she enjoys the Special Government Allowance Expert of the State Council. She is elected as the Delegate to the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. She has been awarded the Youth Talent of Publicizing Ideology and Culture granted by the Publicity Department of the Central Committee of the CPC, and the March 8 Red Faggers (A honorific title for woman who have extraordinary achievements and outstanding contributions on various fronts of socialist construction.).
Yu Chuanya graduated from Liaoning Ballet affiliated Ballet Dance School in 2005 and Beijing Dance Academy in 2009.
She has performed many Chinese and western classic repertoires and contemporary works. World classic repertoires include “Swan Lake”, “The Nutcracker”, “Romeo and Juliet”, “Spartacus”, “Giselle”, “Le Corsaire”, “La Sylphide” etc.; Original Chinese repertoires include “The Moon Shadow in Er Quan”, “The Last Emperor”, “Eight Woman Fighters”, “Mulan” etc.; Contemporary repertoires include “The Song Without Words”, “Partners”, “Elegy”, “Relief” etc.
She won the Special Grand Prize of the 7th Ballet Grand Prix Vienna in 2014, and the Wenhua Prize in Performance for the Culture and Arts Government Award in Liaoning 9th Art Festival; In 2016, the ballet “Eight Woman Fighters” led by her was awarded the highest prize of Chinese government in culture and arts “Wenhua Grand Prize”; In 2017, the ballet “Eight Woman Fighters” led by her was awarded the Best Works Award in the 14th Construction of Spiritual Civilization.
She has visited many countries for performing as a cultural exchange ambassador. She has also collaborated with the well-known global and domestic ballet companies many times as a principal guest artist, e.g. National Ballet of Canada’s “The Nutcracker” in 2014, Johannesburg Ballet’s “Swan Lake” in 2015, Tianjin Ballet’s “Swan Lake” and “Giselle” in 2016, and Mariinsky Theater’s “Giselle” in 2017 etc.
