The Epic Symphony Ballet---Spartacus is created by Russian ballet artist Yuri Gregorovich, and it is an immortal masterpiece of neo-classical ballet in the 20^th century. Thus it is rarely challenged and performed by ballet troupes worldwide. Liaoning Ballet, as a domestic ballet troupe with the exclusive copyright of this production, has filled the gap in ballet field of China.

This ballet illustrates a love story between the captured Spartacus and female slave Phrygia in the first century B.C. Spartacus openly rebelled against Roman Legion’s outrages with the gladiators who were unwilling to kill each other at abattoir in order to seek for freedom. Spartacus was captured in combat due to being trapped by the Roman Empire, and finally died under the spear of Roman soldiers. The desperate Phrygia came to the wilderness where Spartacus died in battle for memorializing her beloved.
