This is a history that has been told millions of times. This is also a story about females, as well about life and belief, humbleness and nobleness, selecting and sacrificing.

On September 18th 1931, Japanese Fascist started the armed aggression in Northeast China and even all over China. Since then, millions of people in Northeast China were devoted to the resistant war against Japanese aggressors during the long 14 years. Among them Leng Yun, Huang Guiqing, Wang Huimin, An Shunfu, Hu Xiuzhi, Yang Guizhen, Guo Guiying and Li Fengshan were the most ordinary women soldiers. These eight women soldiers came together with different experiences, and they were bonded closely by the same love and hatred. In the secret barracks of Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army, youth and love were growing in the cracks of war, and the most beautiful flowers on cliffs were revived in blood and flames of war.

In 1938, the Japanese aggressors mustered one hundred thousand soldiers to suppress the Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army. The Fourth and Fifth Armies of Northeast Anti-Japanese United Army were forced to strategically shift to the west. Eight women soldiers in the First Division of Fifth Army suppressed their grief of loosing families and lovers, left the secret barracks and joined in the army of westward march.

On the terribly difficult way of marching westwards, a number of lives were continuously devitalized by danger, injury pains, fatigue, hanger and enemies’ day-by-day besiegement and interception; Even the soldiers’ hearts were tortured by betrayal and desperation more, but their persistence and belief were never taken away.

On one cold morning in October, the army ambushed Japaneses army on the way of strategically shifting. In order to cover the principal forces to break out of encirclement, eight women soldiers volunteered to charge forward for distracting the enemy fire. They would die rather than surrender, and jumped into the surging Ouse River resolutely and determinedly for dying for their motherland under the circumstances of running out of ammunition and not seeing any reinforcement. Among them Leng Yun was 23 years old as the oldest soldier when sacrificing, and Wang Huimin was 13 years old as the youngest soldier. They are the ordinary women, mothers, daughters and wives. They have the noblest spirit of the Chinese nation.
